Online training on intercultural competence in healthcare

As part of the Cervical Cancer Elimination action plan, we are offering a new interactive online training session on intercultural competence in healthcare for frontline staff in screening and vaccination, to support accessible participation for all communities.

This 90-minute session will show you ways to provide care that are fair, and respect different cultures and backgrounds. We will focus on communication, consent and follow-up in healthcare settings. Those who complete the training will receive a certificate of attendance, with the relevant CPD points awarded.

During the session, you will learn practical skills such as active listening, understanding different cultural perspectives and communicating effectively across cultures. You will work through practical examples of cross-cultural healthcare experiences and receive a practical toolkit to help you put your learning into practice.

This training is relevant to cervical screening sample takers working in primary care, gynaecology and colposcopy services, and other healthcare settings, and will be particularly relevant if you provide screening to women from diverse cultural and ethnic backgrounds.

If you are interested in attending our training on 20 October, we would be delighted to welcome you. Please register through MS Teams using this link.

Please feel free to share this invitation with colleagues who may also find the session useful.
